Oakland four-piece Mildred, described as 'Pavement went Americana', play The Cardigan Arms at the Brudenell Social Club.
Mildred play The Cardigan Arms on Friday 27 November, with doors opening at 19:30. The show is presented by Brudenell & Field Work, and tickets are £12 in advance.
Mildred are a four-piece from Oakland, California, who describe themselves as four equal parts: no lead singer and no single songwriter. Their songs sprout from any one of them — Henry Easton Koehler, Jack Schrott, Matt Palmquist and Will Fortna — and are usually wrestled into shape by the other three. Clash Magazine summed them up as 'imagine if Pavement went Americana'.
The band says the project was born from the simple decision that playing, talking about and thinking about music together is fun, and something they want to structure their lives around. It's a fair way of putting it: four people who just enjoy the process of making music together, without one name taking the lead. The set will be a 14+ event, with under-18s to be accompanied by an adult.
