Stand-up show by Michael Spicer, the creator of the viral hit 'The Room Next Door', with sketches, short films and stories about politics and the world.
Michael Spicer brings his show No Room to City Varieties Music Hall on Wednesday 21 October, starting at 7:30pm. It's a satirical piece that pulls together sketches, short films and stories about the current political and global shit-show, played out through the show's regular characters and a few old friends. The title is shared with his BBC Radio 4 show, so if you've followed him on the radio, this is the stage version of that same world.
Spicer is the online sensation behind The Room Next Door, the award-winning viral hit that put him on the map. Since then, the Radio Times, the Guardian and the Daily Mail have all called him a 'huge comedy talent', and No Room is the show he's taking on the road. It's a mix of formats rather than a straight stand-up set, so you'll get sketches and short films alongside the stories.
The City Varieties date is an accessible performance: it's audio described, British sign language captioned and relaxed, with an accessible toilet, baby changing, hearing aid loop and wheelchair access. Guide dogs are welcome. Age guidance is 16+, with parental guidance recommended.
