Weekly Friday pay-as-you-feel craft morning for knitting, crochet, jewellery and other makers to work on their projects in good company.
Makers Morning is back at Chapel Allerton Arts Centre this Friday 23 October, from 10am to 1pm. It's a pay-as-you-feel craft group run by Northlight CIC in north Leeds, and it's open to anyone who works with their hands.
The whole thing is built around a feeling most of us know well: that half-finished jumper, the box of fabric, the project you keep meaning to get back to, but the week just keeps eating into the hours you'd set aside for it. The idea here is to put a repeating slot in the diary, somewhere that isn't your own house and with other people doing the same, as a way to build a routine that actually helps you make progress. It's less about a specific class and more about carving out a proper window of time to just get on with it.
It's a friendly, mixed group open to makers of every craft and every level of experience. Knitting and crochet are the usuals, but it's not just for them — jewellery, bookbinding and lino cutting all fit in. You get three hours to work on your own project in good company, share tips and tricks, and make new friends while you're at it. If you're a complete beginner, it's a low-pressure way to start; if you've been at it for years, it's a chance to finally finish that one thing you've been putting off.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Leeds and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The cafe bar runs alongside the session, serving Yorkshire roasted coffee, tea, cake and snacks, and the terrace and garden are open when the weather is kind. It's pay-as-you-feel, so you just contribute what you can on the day. You'll find it at Chapel Allerton Arts Centre, 31 Potternewton Lane, Chapel Allerton, Leeds LS7 3LW, every Friday from 10am to 1pm.
