Drop-in science discovery session for under-5s that uses simple science to explore the museum's Victorian streets.
Little Scientists is back at Abbey House Museum on Friday 6 November, from 10:00 to 11:15. It's a drop-in science discovery session for under-5s, so you don't need to book a slot in advance—just turn up with your little ones and get stuck in.
The session uses simple science to explore the museum's Victorian streets, which are the heart of the place. Abbey House is an interactive museum that lets you step back into the city's Victorian past, with galleries that reconstruct authentic streets from the era. Alongside those, there are childhood displays filled with toys from the museum's own collection, set against the city's social history. The building itself still carries the marks of Colonel T. Walter Harding, who lived there and owned the house from 1890 to 1912.
Little Scientists is one of the museum's family-friendly sessions, and it sits alongside a wider programme of school holiday activities, adult study days, curator talks and community events. The museum is run by the council-led Leeds Museums and Galleries, and it also works as a venue for hire, filming and photography.
