Live recording of the Vandal Factory podcast, split into two performance halves, with poets Leyla Barakat and Ace Ambrose.
Leyla Barakat and Ace Ambrose are coming to Wharf Chambers on Wednesday 25 November, for a live recording of the Vandal Factory podcast. The evening is hosted by poet Henry Raby and theatre-maker Natalie Quatermass, and it's split into two performance halves.
Barakat is a Palestinian-Bulgarian poet and actor based in Manchester, and her work draws on her mixed-race identity to look at trauma, duty, art and politics; she often works with Comma Press. Ambrose, who also goes by the name Pali Punk, is a Eurasian-Palestinian poet and protest singer based in the West Midlands. She's a co-founder of Branches Of The Levant, an independent aid initiative in North Gaza, and she donates all her proceeds to marginalised communities. Her self-produced EP, Hope Amongst The Horror, collects her protest songs.
