The 71st exhibition of the Leeds Model Railway Society, with around 20 model railway layouts and traders at The Grammar School at Leeds.
The Leeds Model Railway Society are back at The Grammar School at Leeds on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October, their 71st exhibition. It's a regular spot for them, so if you've been before, you'll know the layout of the place. This time around, they're bringing about 20 layouts to the hall, with a selection of traders there too, so you can pick up bits for your own setup while you're walking around.
Seventy-one years is a fair run for any society, and the scale of this one reflects that. With twenty layouts to work through, there's plenty to see without having to rush. You'll find a good mix of styles on display, and the traders mean you can browse for parts and accessories in the same room. It's the kind of afternoon where you can spend as little or as much time as you like, watching the trains run and chatting with the people who built them.
On the practical side, there are refreshments on site, and free car parking, which makes it an easy trip if you're driving in from across the city. There's disabled access too, so it's open to everyone. The venue is The Grammar School at Leeds, Alwoodley Gates, Harrogate Road, Leeds LS17 8GS.

It runs across the whole weekend: 10:00 to 17:00 on the Saturday and 10:00 to 16:30 on the Sunday. Entry is £10 per adult, and that includes up to three children per paying adult, so it works well if you're bringing the family along. With the layouts spread across the two days, you've got a couple of chances to catch it.
