Free launch day of Star Studio Leeds with acting and musical theatre sessions for young performers aged 4 to 18 and a parent talk.
Star Studio Leeds is opening its doors at The Grammar School at Leeds on Sunday 10 January 2027, with a launch day that runs from 9:00 to 12:45. It's a performing arts studio for ages 4–18, and the morning is split into three age-specific sessions: Rising for the 4–6s, Spotlight for 7–11s, and Encore for 12–18s. While the kids are in their sessions, co-founder Emma MacFayden will be giving a talk for parents.
The studio is led by working actors and performers who teach musical theatre and screen acting side by side, rather than as separate things. That means working with real scripts, lighting, and cameras from the start, rather than just running through lines in a room. They also keep links open with casting professionals and agencies, so it's not just about the classes themselves. Every tutor holds enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding training.
If the launch day works for you, it's the start of something more regular: Sunday sessions continue throughout the term from 9:30 to 14:30. Families who join in January lock in their 2027 fee and become a 'Founding Family', which gets their child's name on the Founders' Wall and a free Studio+ masterclass. Parents and carers can come along for free without a ticket.
