Free social 5K community run by the Lost Culture Running Club (LCRC) on the second Sunday of the month, open to all levels.
Lost Culture Running Club are back at The Gym Group Headingley on Sunday 8 November for another one of their Sunday Sessions. It's a free social 5K open to all levels, and if you've never been, it's worth knowing how it works: the club runs these on the second Sunday of every month, so this is just one of a regular series rather than a one-off. The organisers describe it as a community run rather than a race, and that's a good way to frame it. Their own words are 'It's not a race, it's a community. Purpose in Motion. Run, connect & vibe.'
On the day, the run is a 5K with supportive pacers guiding people along the route, so you don't have to worry about getting lost or keeping a certain pace. The whole morning is built around good vibes and good energy, and it's open to all levels, so you can go at your own speed without any pressure. Once the running is done, there's a coffee shop nearby that gives members a 10% discount, which is a nice way to wind down and chat with the other runners before heading home.
Logistically, it's easy enough to get to. The Gym Group Headingley is at 1A Headingley Central, LS6 2FP, and there's free parking at Headingley Central as well as free roadside parking nearby. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll need to sign a waiver to join the club runs, so it's worth getting that sorted before you set off.
