Free monthly social 5K run by the Lost Culture Running Club, with a warm-up, supportive pacers and free chai and coffee at the finish.
Lost Culture Running Club are back at Dishoom on Sunday 1 November for another Social Sunday, their monthly 5K that runs on the first Sunday of every month. It's a free social run open to all levels, and they describe it as 'not a race, it's a community'.
The morning starts with a warm-up to get everyone moving, and the run itself is guided by supportive pacers, so you've got a steady hand to follow regardless of your pace. It's a 5K loop through the city centre, and the whole thing is free to join. The reward at the finish is free Dishoom signature chai tea and coffee, so you can wind down with a proper brew once you're back.
Dishoom itself is a nostalgic British bakery from the team behind Doh'hut and Things In Bread, and it's worth a look even if you're only there for the run. They do refined school cakes, vanilla slices, pasties, pastries and coffee, so there's plenty of the proper bakery stuff to pick at after you've finished your 5K. If you're not running, it's still a good spot to drop into for a slice and a coffee.
