Youth showcase of original music by five West Yorkshire artists aged 18 and under, part of the Launchpad Futures music industry initiative.
The Wardrobe hosts the Launchpad Youth Showcase on Sunday 1 November, from 4:00 to 7:00pm. It's an afternoon of original music from five artists all aged 18 and under and based in West Yorkshire: Call Me Animal, AVIATION, Popstar, Kefler and Anomaly. The bill mixes different genres, and the sets are quick-fire, so it's built for audiences, friends and family to come along and support emerging talent.
The showcase is part of the Launchpad Futures initiative, which has taken school visits across Yorkshire to talk to young people about music industry career pathways. Along the way, they've partnered with Discover Creative Careers on a video following the artist Dilettante and run open mic sessions with Leeds Libraries and Leeds Art Gallery. The aim is for this to become a regular fixture, with an open call for young performers and links to other youth-centred city initiatives, creating performance opportunities and pathways into the industry.
