Five-week course by Leeds Print Workshop introducing screen printing on paper, from coating screens to multi-colour prints and a print exchange.
Leeds Print Workshop are running an introductory screen printing course over five weeks this autumn, from Tuesday 22 September to Tuesday 20 October. It's an evening thing, running 18:00 to 20:30, and it's held at Patrick Studios in Leeds LS9 7EH.
The course focuses on screen printing onto paper. Over the five sessions, you'll work with blank screens and paper stencils, learn how to strip and coat screens, and create artwork for screen exposures. You'll also get into colour mixing for multi-layer prints, and the tutor brings in relevant contextual artists and screen printing terminology as you go.
One of the main things you'll pick up is how to register and layer designs, printing with multiple colours using the photo stencil emulsion technique and a UV exposure unit. The final week ends with a participant print exchange, where everyone swaps some of what they've made.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Leeds and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
