Improvisation class led by Duncan Marwick that works through comedy improv games and exercises to develop communication skills, with no experience required.
Impro(ve) Your Soul is back at the Swarthmore Education Centre on Wednesday 14 October, 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. It's an improvisation class run by Duncan Marwick, who's been an improviser for more than 35 years and has been teaching with his own spin for over two decades. The sessions work through comedy improv games and step-by-step exercises, and the organisers frame improvisation as the most accessible of artforms: 'EVERY human is an expert in improvising their own life', they say, and with very little training anyone can practice, perform and pick up soft skills transferable to every walk of life.
No experience is required, and the class is open to anyone looking to develop their communication skills, whether they want to go on stage or not. It's as much about what you take away from the room as what you do in it, so you don't need to be aiming for a career in comedy to get something out of it. The sessions are tagged #improvNHS and #monkeyphilosophy.
