Beginner-friendly one-to-one Cricut workshop with an experienced Hobbycraft colleague, suitable for ages 14 and over.
Hobbycraft is running one-to-one Cricut workshops across its Leeds stores, and there's a session on Saturday 24 October. It's a bit different from your usual class: you're paired up with an experienced colleague for a full hour of bespoke tuition, so you're not just following a group along. The session is tailored to you, which is handy if you've got a specific project in mind or a particular part of the machine that's been tripping you up.
It's designed for beginners, so you don't need to have a handle on things before you turn up. The hour covers all the Cricut machine types — Maker, Joy, Joy Xtra and Explore — as well as Design Space, the software you use to create your cuts. There's also a look at working with new materials, so if you've been sticking to card and vinyl and want to branch out, this is a good place to start. It's open to adults and anyone aged 14 and over, so it works as a solo thing or something to do with a teenager.
One of the better bits is how it's set up. It's sold as a gift voucher, which you then redeem for your in-store session. That means you've got 12 months from the date of purchase to actually book it in, so you can grab it now and pick a date that suits you later on, rather than having to commit to a specific day straight away. If you're buying it for someone else, they get to choose when they go.

It's £28 for the hour. A review from January 2026 gave the experience five stars, describing the tutor as 'knowledgeable, friendly and patient' and the session as 'great value'. If you've been eyeing a Cricut but weren't sure where to start, this is a straightforward way to get a handle on it.
