Symphonic concert by The Great British Film Orchestra of iconic Halloween and thriller film soundtracks, presented as a theatrical evening at Leeds Minster.
The Great British Film Orchestra are playing Leeds Minster on Saturday 24 October, with a programme they've called Halloween at the Movies. It's a symphonic run through some of cinema's most recognisable soundtracks, all performed live by the orchestra rather than played from a recording.
The setlist pulls from a few different corners of the horror and supernatural genres. You'll hear The Addams Family, Beetlejuice, Hocus Pocus, Harry Potter, Ghostbusters and Friday the 13th — so it's as much about the spooky and the kooky as it is about the genuine slashers. The orchestra reimagines these scores as a live chamber performance, and the whole thing is staged as a theatrical experience with bright flashing lights and Portman lighting effects throughout the evening. If you're sensitive to louder passages, ear protection is recommended.
