Free showcase of young female singer-songwriters with live songs and short interviews by Mark Farrar.
Girls with Guitars is at Hyde Park Book Club on Monday 26 October, with Emma Jane, Daisy Summers, Madeleine May and Rihanna Grace all playing. It's a night of four singer-songwriters sharing one bill, and it runs from 6:30pm to 10:00pm in the Snug.
There's a bit more to the format than just the songs. Between the sets, Mark Farrar will be doing short interviews with each of them, so you'll hear them talk as well as play. The artists can then post those clips on social media, which is one of the reasons the night was set up in the first place: it's a way for them to get their names and their music in front of more people from their own demographic.
Emma Jane, who records and releases her own music, put the whole thing together as a showcase for young female singer-songwriters. The pairing of live songs and interviews is the core of it, and the four names on the bill — Emma Jane, Daisy Summers, Madeleine May and Rihanna Grace — are the ones taking turns on stage throughout the evening.
