Weekly gentle dance session for people over 55 led by Sophie Simpson at Trinity Network in Belle Isle, with a free taster session.
Dance On Belle Isle is running at Trinity Network on Nesfield Road in Belle Isle, Leeds LS10 3LG, on Tuesday mornings from 9:45 to 10:45. It's part of the wider Dance On programme, which is run by Yorkshire Dance, a registered charity that encourages people over 55 to try something new, get active and meet new people.
The class is led by Sophie Simpson, in partnership with Trinity Network. It's an hour-long session that members describe as gentle movement that anyone can do and that keeps them mobile. If you've never danced before, that's fine — the whole point of the programme is to get people moving without needing any prior experience. The first taster session is always free, so you can try it out before deciding whether to stick with it.
Beyond the class itself, Dance On is supported by a few different funders and partners, including the National Lottery Community Fund, Leeds City Council and Bradford District Council. It's a weekly thing rather than a one-off, so it's more of a regular morning routine than a single event.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Leeds and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The sessions run every Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45am, starting on 11 August 2026 and continuing through to 24 November 2026. After that free first taster, it's £2.00 per session.
