Concert by the Toronto four-piece Cootie Catcher, blending twee pop with spiralling synths and giddy electronics at the Brudenell Social Club.
Cootie Catcher play Brudenell Social Club on Tuesday 3 November, in the Lending Room. They're a Toronto four-piece who take the open-hearted tenderness of twee pop and hypercharge it with spiralling synths and giddy electronics. The night is part of the Brudenell Presents series, and they'll be sharing the bill with guests.
They're touring their new album, Something We All Got, which is the band's first flirtation with studio recording after years of releasing music made primarily in basements. Even with the studio polish, it keeps its sharp lo-fi edges and personally sourced samples, so it doesn't sound like a clean break from where they started. The group is fronted by three songwriters: Sophia Chavez on vocals and synths, Anita Fowl on vocals and bass, and Nolan Jakupovski on vocals and guitar. Their writing overlaps on shared concerns like romantic and platonic relationships, the social scenes of their city, and the challenges of late-stage capitalism.

The show starts at 19:30 in the Lending Room at Brudenell Social Club, 229 Woodhouse Lane, LS2 3AP. Tickets are £14.00 in advance.
