Stand-up show by Chris Ramsey, the comedian and TV presenter behind the podcast 'Shagged Married Annoyed', at the Leeds Grand Theatre.
Chris Ramsey brings his new show Here Man to Leeds Grand Theatre on Saturday 5 December, starting at 7:30pm. It's a full evening of stand-up, running about two hours with an interval, so you'll have a bit of a break in the middle.
If you've come across Ramsey from the telly, you've probably seen him on The Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show, Strictly Come Dancing, or Taskmaster, and he's the face of Children in Need. He also co-hosts the weekly marital podcast Shagged Married Annoyed with his wife, Rosie Ramsey. Here Man is the stage companion to that podcast: it's the place for all the stuff he can't say on the show. The run follows a spring tour that sold out quickly, so this is a good chance to catch it if you missed that one.
As for the style, the Evening Standard called him "a brilliantly engaging natural storyteller" and the Guardian described the show as "stand-up gold." It's a long set, so there's plenty of room for the storytelling to breathe rather than just a sequence of quick-fire jokes. The age guidance is 14+, with parental guidance recommended, which fits with the idea that this is the uncensored version of his podcast material.
