Candlelight tribute concert to the music of ABBA and more at St George's Church.
ABBA are the focus of a Candlelight tribute at St George's Church on Saturday 14 November, part of the Candlelight concert series that brings live music into venues the city doesn't usually see them in. The set centres on the music of ABBA, with other pieces added to the programme, all performed under the glow of candlelight.
Candlelight describes the series as a multi-sensory musical experience, taking live performances into awe-inspiring locations. The idea is to hear familiar music in a setting it wasn't originally written for, and this one puts ABBA's songs in the context of a church rather than a dancefloor. The candlelight is as much a part of the evening as the music itself, so it's a different way of listening to songs you probably already know by heart.
