Free live session of the social deduction party game Blood on the Clocktower in Leeds.
Blood on the Clocktower is coming to Leeds on Sunday 25 October, starting at 12:00. If you've never come across it, it's a social deduction game that plays out as a live session — a group of people gathered around a table, each with a secret role, trying to figure out who's lying and who's telling the truth.
That's the basic pitch, but the game is built on a lot more than just guessing. Everyone gets a role, and while most of the town is trying to root out the Demon, the Demon and their minions are working to pick the town off one by one. The twist is that you're not just guessing based on a vibe; you're trading information, questioning other players, and trying to piece together a puzzle where half the pieces are deliberately wrong. It's as much about the conversation as it is about the game itself, and since it's played in person, a lot of the fun comes from watching people try to keep a straight face while they're lying to your face.
Because it's a social game, you don't need to have played it before to jump in. The Storyteller runs the session, guiding the group through the rules and keeping the game moving, so you can just turn up and get stuck in. It's the kind of thing that works best when you're in the room with everyone else, rather than playing through a screen, and since it's a live session, you'll be spending the afternoon talking your way through it with a room full of other people.
