A hands-on, drop-in activity for families to explore art and creativity at Leeds City Museum.
Arty Facts kicks off at Leeds City Museum on Sunday 25 October, and it's a hands-on activity for families. It's a drop-in session, so you don't need to book ahead — you just turn up when it suits you. The museum is right in the heart of Leeds, and the session runs from 1pm to 4pm.
It's not a one-off, either. Arty Facts returns on the last Sunday of every month, from 25 October 2026 right through to 28 March 2027, so if you can't make this first one, there are plenty more to choose from. It's one of the museum's free, drop-in activities, and it's completely free to take part.
If you're not familiar with the venue, Leeds City Museum is the city's museum of history and the modern day, run by Leeds Museums and Galleries and Leeds City Council. It's a family-friendly space that's previously won the national Kids in Museums Family Friendly Museum Award. There's plenty to do around the museum while you're there: you can come face-to-face with animals from around the world, explore archaeology in mini dig zones, try on costumes and make music in the Voices of Asia gallery, and follow hands-on interactives through the history of Leeds. For the little ones, there's a Toddler Town play area for under-5s, and the Herbarium Café does children's food and provides highchairs. There's even the Preservative Party, a group of young curators who help shape the spaces.
