A weekly hands-on STEAM session for tweens at the KCDML Makerspace, focusing on creative building and discovery.
Tween Tech Club is back at the KCDML Makerspace on Tuesday, October 13, from 4:30 to 5:30 PM. It's a weekly hands-on STEAM session run out of the Kansas City Public Library's creative hub, and it's aimed at tweens.
The whole point of the club is that it doesn't stick to one thing. Each week opens up a different area of focus, so you're not just doing the same project over and over. One week might lean into music, the next into art, and from there it can go anywhere—crafts, 3D printing, and whatever else the Makerspace has on hand. The idea is that you build and discover as you go, picking up a new skill or a new tool every time you show up.
Because it's a weekly thing, it works as a drop-in. If you're into one week's focus, you can come back for the next and see where it goes from there. The Makerspace is the library's hub for this kind of stuff, so it's set up for exactly this: getting your hands on tools and materials and actually making something rather than just reading about it. It's a good spot for tweens who like to tinker and aren't afraid to get a little messy.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Kansas City and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
