Teen Movie Night: Five Nights at Freddy's

The Waldo Branch of the Kansas City Public Library is hosting a Teen Movie Night on Wednesday, October 14, starting at 5:30 PM. The main feature is Five Nights at Freddy's, the movie based on the horror game series about haunted animatronics. If you've followed the games, you know the setup: a night security guard stuck in a pizzeria with robots that don't stay put. The movie brings that to the screen, and seeing it in a room with other people is a different experience than watching it alone on a couch.

It's more than just the screening, too. They're running movie-themed bingo alongside the film, so you'll have something to do while you watch, and there are prizes for whoever hits their line first. They'll also have snacks and drinks on hand, which is a nice touch for a mid-week outing. Costumes are encouraged, so if you've got a security guard outfit or something that fits the vibe, this is a good time to wear it.

Since it's a teen night, it's geared toward a younger crowd, but the whole thing is open to anyone who wants to catch the movie. It's a low-key way to spend a Wednesday evening in the neighborhood. The screening starts at 5:30 PM at the Waldo Branch in Kansas City.
