Saturday Storytime

Saturday Storytime is back at the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library on Saturday, October 10. It's an all-ages storytime, so it works whether you're bringing a toddler or a whole family, and it comes with a complementary activity to follow the reading. The session runs from 10:30 to 11:00 AM in the Kid Corner.

If you haven't spent much time there, the Plaza Branch is one of the city's most recognizable library spots. It opened at Brookside Boulevard and Main Street in 1967 as the first branch the Kansas City board of education built outside of a high school facility, and it's still the busiest in the system. The floor-to-ceiling windows look out over the Country Club Plaza and Brush Creek, and inside you'll find the 'Good As Gold' sculpture, which is made of books.

Down on the lower level is the Truman Forum Auditorium, a space with fixed seating for more than 200 people. It's where the library hosts its signature events series, bringing in authors, artists, and civic leaders from around the city and the country. So while the storytime happens up in the Kid Corner, there's a lot more going on in the building than just the children's programming.

Saturday Storytime is at the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64112, from 10:30 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10.
