Free screening of the 1988 film 'Beetlejuice' at the Durwood Film Vault, part of the ShockCentral film group's scary-movie series.
Beetlejuice screens at the Central Library on Thursday, October 15, at 2 PM. It's a free screening, and it's part of the ShockCentral film group's monthly scary-movie series, which the library programs for adults. The movie is a staple of the season, and seeing it in a theater is a different thing than watching it at home.
The venue is half the draw here. The screening takes place in the Durwood Film Vault, an original bank vault converted into a 28-seat movie theater inside the Central Library. It's a small, enclosed space, and seating is first come first served, so if you're set on a spot, you'll want to get there early.
The screening is also part of the library's wider Pumpkin Palooza, a Halloween program that runs through October. It's a full month of stuff: daily films, pumpkin painting competitions, crafts, games, and snacks. Costumes are encouraged but not required, so you can show up in a full getup or just come as you are.

Between the vault and the rest of the Halloween programming, there's plenty to do around the library this month. The Beetlejuice screening is free, and it starts at 2 PM on October 15.
