A dance fitness program combining explosive dance movements with body-weight toning, presented by NickiFit at the Waldo Branch.
NickiFit brings MixxedFit to the Kansas City Public Library: Waldo Branch on Monday, October 12, from 6 to 7 PM. It's a dance fitness program that pairs explosive dance movements with body-weight toning, led by a certified MixxedFit instructor. The music pulls from a wide range of genres—Top 40, Hip-Hop, Reggae, and Rock—and the moves are repetitive and easy to follow, with low-impact options available for anyone who needs them. It's aimed at people who like to dance, aspire to dance, or simply love moving their bodies to music, and these library sessions are for adults.
If you're not familiar with the Waldo Branch, it's at 201 East 75th Street, Kansas City, MO 64114. It's one of the system's most popular locations, and it has a bit of a history: it was once the Southwest Branch at the old Southwest High School on Wornall Road, and the current facility opened as the South Branch in December 1988, complete with an electronic center that featured IBM PC and Apple IIE computers. The branch has since become a staple of the neighborhood, and this is one of the programs it hosts for the community.
