Free open-mic stand-up comedy night with bucket pulls, joke wheel and all-night happy hour at Pizza Bar.
Pizza Bar brings back its comedy night on Thursday, October 22, with Jokes By The Slice: Bucket Pull Edition. It's part of the venue's ongoing comedy series, which they bill as "A Night of Comedy, Pizza & Surprises."
The lineup is drawn from the Fountain City Comedy Festival, and the night runs on an open-mic format. Instead of a set list, the order is decided by bucket pulls—names drawn at random—and the joke wheel, so you never quite know who's stepping up next. It's the kind of setup where the randomness is part of the show, and the comedians are working with whatever the wheel throws their way.
Between the sets, the pizza and drinks keep things moving. Pizza Bar runs an all-night Happy Hour during the show, with half-price pizza and cold drinks available from start to finish. The venue itself is known for daily happy hours, with all-day drinks on Thursdays and evening sessions on Fridays and Saturdays, so the all-night deal here is a bit of a step up from the usual.
