Kansas City's largest farmers market with dozens of vendors offering produce, fresh breads, flowers and crafts.
The Farmers Market at City Market is running this Saturday, October 10, at City Market, 20 E. 5th St. It's Kansas City's largest farmers market, and it's a good one to hit if you're looking to stock up on more than just a few vegetables. Dozens of regional vendors set up here, bringing in produce, fresh breads, flowers, plants, spices and crafts. You'll find the seasonal produce and the baked goods, but there are also plants and flowers to take home, and a variety of crafts from local makers.
City Market is a historic gathering place in the River Market neighborhood, where community, culture and cuisine have come together for more than 160 years. It's the city's largest market of its kind, and the vendors are regional, so you're getting things grown and made closer to home. Beyond the market stalls, the area has independent restaurants, cafes and specialty grocers, as well as unique boutiques and local makers. If you've got extra time, there are historic and cultural attractions nearby, like the Arabia Steamboat Museum.

One thing that sets this apart from a lot of other markets is that it runs year-round, every weekend. The hours shift with the seasons, though: from April through October, it's 8 AM to 3 PM on weekends; from November through December and in March, it's 9 AM to 3 PM on weekends; and in January and February, it's 9 AM to 3 PM on Saturday only. This Saturday, October 10, falls in that early window, so it's open from 8 AM to 3 PM.
