Concert by Kansas City singer-songwriter Erin Eades, blending Americana, indie and alternative sounds, with a donation to the Center For Recorded Music.
Erin Eades plays The Listyning Room in Leawood on Tuesday, September 1, at 7 PM. It's a local show for a Kansas City singer-songwriter whose sound pulls from Americana and modern folk, with a 90s alternative swagger and lyrics that don't shy away from being authentic.
Eades was raised in Appalachia, and that background sits right alongside the indie-rock leanings she's known for. Earlier this year, she released her first full-length album, Monsters, which peaked at #24 on the NACC Top 30 Folk Charts. Brian Clifton of Mills Record Company described her music as "truly a hybrid," drawing on Americana, indie, alternative, country, and more. It's a good way to frame what she does: she doesn't stick to one lane, and the songs can shift between folk and something with a bit more edge.
