Guided urban hike through downtown alleyways with vibrant murals, coffee samples and local stories.
Urban Hikes Kansas City is leading a Coffee Urban Hike with Murals on Saturday, October 10, a guided walk that threads through the River Market and the Crossroads Arts District. It's a three-mile route that takes between three and three and a half hours, and you'll be riding the KC Streetcar along the way.
The coffee is the main draw: you'll sample brews at three different shops or windows, and at each stop, the guide tells the story behind the place. Between those, you'll be strolling through alleyways filled with murals, picking up local history and spotting hidden gems you'd probably walk right past on your own. The route connects two of the city's most distinct neighborhoods—the River Market and the Crossroads Arts District—so you get a good look at how they each hold their own.
Urban Hikes KC bills itself as the only urban hiking company in Kansas City, and they run their tours in both English and Spanish. The format is the same across their hikes: a mix of modern sites and the city's history, led by a guide who keeps things moving. This one just happens to center on coffee and street art.
