Closing event of the 13th annual Art in the Loop, with live performances and a meeting with the year's artists.
Art in the Loop is wrapping up its 2026 season with a closing reception at the Central Library on Thursday, October 29. The reception starts at 5:30 PM, with the main program following at 6:00 PM in Kirk Hall, 14 West 10th Street. It's free and open to the public, though they're asking for an RSVP.
This is the 13th annual Art in the Loop, a curated outdoor exhibition run by the Art in the Loop Foundation in partnership with the KC Streetcar Authority. This year's edition was the 11th season the two have worked together. A competitive open call brought in more than 135 local applicants, from which 26 artists were selected to exhibit, install, and perform along and near the streetcar route from June through September. The theme was 'Home,' and it asked artists to look at the places, people, and dreams that bring us back to ourselves.
The reception brings the organizers and participants together to look back on the summer's work. Selected artists will show their pieces and talk about their experiences. The evening is presented by art directors Jade Osborne and Khyneesha Edwards, with music by Ernest Melton and Friends and work by social practice artist Socorro Reyes Ramirez.

It arrives as downtown artists continue to play a key role in the city's revitalization. The reception is at the Central Library, 14 West 10th Street, with the reception starting at 5:30 PM and the program at 6:00 PM; it's free and open to the public, RSVP requested.
