Welshly Arms, the Cleveland indie-rock band behind the gold single 'Legendary', plays HI-FI with The Astronomers as support.
Welshly Arms play HI-FI on Tuesday, November 17, with The Astronomers opening. It's a mid-week show in the Murphy Arts Center, so if you're planning to be there, keep in mind it's a Tuesday night.
Welshly Arms are an indie-rock band from Cleveland, led by Sam Getz. They've been around long enough to have a decent catalog behind them, and their sound pulls from a few different places at once—jazz, soul, gospel, blues, and alternative rock. It's that kind of mix that lets them fit into a few different buckets: they can lean into the soul side of things or push the rock forward, depending on the song.
One of the things that stands out about their history is how they've worked. Their 2018 debut album, No Place Is Home, was recorded in a 19th-century farmhouse the band rented and turned into a studio and creative hub during the pandemic. It's the kind of detail that tells you how they approach things—taking over a space and making it their own. Before that, their 2017 EP Legendary gave them the title track that went gold in Germany and Switzerland, passed 47 million Spotify streams and 1.5 million Shazams, and helped them move from local Cleveland clubs to festival stages like Lollapalooza, Reading & Leeds, BottleRock, Rock am Ring, and Hangout Music Fest.

Their music has also popped up in a few places you might recognize: the trailer for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight, Netflix's Underground 6, and ads for Miller Lite, Jeep, ESPN, MLB, NFL, and NASCAR. That's a wide spread of syncs, from a Tarantino trailer to sports commercials, and it points to the kind of broad, accessible appeal their sound has.
Doors open at 7 PM, and the show starts at 8 PM. The Astronomers open for them, so you'll get two bands in one night. HI-FI is inside the Murphy Arts Center at 1043 Virginia Ave #4, Indianapolis, IN 46203.
