Second session of a three-week series by the Indianapolis Public Library's Tech Learning Team on internet safety and digital tools for adults.
The Internet Toolkit continues at the Nora Branch on Tuesday, November 10, from 2 PM to 4 PM. This is the second session of a three-week series put together by the Indianapolis Public Library's Tech Learning Team, and it's built for adults who want a solid foundation for using the web in everyday life. The sessions are designed to stand on their own, so you don't have to have been there for the first one to get something out of this one.
Across the three weeks, the curriculum covers browser navigation, search shortcuts, security basics, browser customization, and your digital footprint. It's a practical run through the things that usually just get handed down in fragments—how to actually move around a browser, how to search more efficiently, and how to keep your information safe. If you've ever felt like you're missing a few pieces of the puzzle when it comes to the web, this is where they get filled in.
The Nora Branch is on North Guilford Avenue, and it's been a part of the neighborhood for a while—it opened in 1971 and was expanded to 18,500 square feet in 1990. The current suburban Washington Township building sits on a 2.56-acre lot donated by Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Eiteljorg back in 1968. The program is made possible by The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
