All-ages alternative rock show by The Bends, the Baton Rouge and Nashville quartet behind 'Makeup', at HI-FI in the Murphy Arts Center.
The Bends play HI-FI on Sunday, November 1, with doors opening at 7 PM and the show starting at 8 PM. They're an alternative rock quartet out of Baton Rouge, now based in Nashville: Hayden Field on vocals and guitar, Ian Marmande on guitar, Jacob Rhodes on drums, and Chase Perkins on bass.
The four met at LSU and cut their first original, "Makeup," which took off after Zach Bryan shared it on Instagram, calling it "the song of the year" and pushing it to more than 6.2 million Spotify streams. From there, Kevin Griffin, the frontman of Better Than Ezra, produced and co-wrote "Virginia" and introduced the band to Warner Records.
They've been putting out music steadily since then. 2025 brought the Leeward Drive EP, and they followed that with a series of singles throughout 2026. Their debut album for Warner Records is still on the way, so this set will draw from that early material and the singles they've released over the last couple of years.
