Free storytime session with stories, songs, games and early literacy activities for preschoolers aged 3 to 6.
Storytime at Franklin Road is back at the Franklin Road Branch on Thursday, October 22, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. It's a preschool storytime session, aimed at kids aged 3 to 6, so it's geared toward the little ones who've moved past the baby stage but aren't quite in elementary school yet.
Inside, the hour is built around stories, songs, and games, with other early literacy activities mixed in. It's the kind of thing that keeps kids moving and engaged rather than just sitting still for a single book. If you've got a preschooler who loves to sing along or jump around while listening to a story, this is exactly that.
The session takes place at the Franklin Road Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library, located at 5550 South Franklin Road in Indianapolis. The branch serves Franklin Township and is an 18,000-square-foot facility that replaced the Wanamaker Branch in 2000. The Wanamaker had opened in 1969 on Southeastern Avenue, after years of volunteer-staffed service in an empty church building, so the current branch is a newer, dedicated space for the neighborhood.
