Preschool storytime session for children aged 3 to 5 and their caregivers at the East 38th Street branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.
Storytime for preschoolers is happening at the Indianapolis Public Library East 38th Street Branch on Thursday, October 22, from 10:30 to 11:00 AM. It's a half-hour session aimed at kids aged 3 to 5 and their caregivers, so it's a good fit if you're looking for something to do with your preschooler on a weekday morning.
If you're bringing a group from a daycare or preschool, you're welcome to join in, too—just give the Children's Librarian a heads-up at least two days in advance so they can plan for the extra little ones. Otherwise, it's just a matter of showing up with your child.
For those who haven't spent much time there, the East 38th Street Branch has a bit of a history. This is the third version of the library at this site: the first one opened in 1957 as the Emerson Branch, a frame house near East 38th Street and North Emerson Avenue. It didn't stay that size for long, and a 7,500-square-foot branch opened in the same spot in 1962. That Emerson Branch finally closed in 2003 when the current 16,000-square-foot library opened as the East Thirty-Eighth Street Branch.
