Storytime session for babies and toddlers at the Fort Ben Branch library in Indianapolis.
Storytime for Babies and Toddlers is back at the Fort Ben Branch on Monday, November 23, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. It's a session specifically for the youngest crowd—babies and toddlers—so it's a good one to bring along if you've got a little one who's just starting to get into books.
The Fort Ben Branch is a 22,000-square-foot library in a high-traffic Indianapolis neighborhood, and it's got a bit of a story behind it. The land was decommissioned and passed from the U.S. military to the City of Indianapolis in the 1990s, and the library was built as part of the redevelopment plan that followed. It's also the first library in Indiana to become a Certified Autism Center, an international accreditation from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), which is a nice thing to know if you're coming with a child who needs a more sensory-friendly environment.

Beyond the storytime, the building itself is worth a look. It's equipped with community meeting spaces, study rooms, and rooftop solar panels that provide 80% of the building's electricity. If you're in the neighborhood, it's an easy spot to drop into for more than just the session. The storytime runs from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Monday, November 23, at the Fort Ben Branch, 9330 East 56th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46216.
