Weekly preschool storytime session at the Warren Branch library, pairing stories with crafts for families and homeschoolers.
Storytime is back at the Warren Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Thursday, November 12, from 10:30 to 11:00 AM. It's part of the branch's weekly series for preschoolers, and the format is simple: they pair a story with a craft, so the kids get to listen and then make something related to what they just heard.
It's open to families and homeschoolers, which makes it an easy mid-morning outing if you're home with little ones. The session runs for half an hour, so it fits right into a preschooler's attention span without dragging on. If you've been looking for a regular spot to bring the kids on a weekday, this is one of those steady library programs that keeps coming back week after week.
The Warren Branch itself is a 16,000-square-foot library serving Warren Township, located at 9701 East 21st Street. It opened in 1974, right next to Lakeside Elementary School and northeast of Warren Central High School. The building has a bit of history behind itβa fire in 1979 forced the branch to close for seven months, and it didn't see another major overhaul until 2016, when a $1.1 million renovation gave it its first big update since it first opened. These days, it's a full-service branch, and Storytime is just one of the programs it hosts for the neighborhood.
