Weekly storytime session with stories, songs and toys for babies and toddlers at the Warren Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.
Storytime for Baby & Toddler is on at the Indianapolis Public Library Warren Branch on Wednesday, October 21. It's part of the library's weekly series for its youngest visitors, so if you've got a little one at home, this is one of those easy mid-week outings that actually fits into a parent's schedule.
The session is built around the things that keep babies and toddlers engaged: stories, songs, and toys. It's not just sitting and listening—there's plenty of movement and hands-on stuff for them to do, which is usually the only way to keep a toddler in one spot for more than five minutes. Families and homeschoolers are welcome, so it's a good place to meet other parents in the neighborhood while the kids get their energy out.
If you haven't been to the Warren Branch in a while, it's a 16,000-square-foot library serving Warren Township. It opened back in 1974, right next to Lakeside Elementary School and just northeast of Warren Central High School. It's had a bit of a history: a fire in 1979 forced it to close for seven months, and it didn't see its first major overhaul until a $1.1 million renovation was finished in 2016. These storytimes are part of the regular programming the branch runs for the community.
