Sting performs in an intimate trio format with guitarist Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas, drawing on classics from his solo career and The Police.
Sting is playing the Murat Theatre at Old National Centre on Thursday, October 22, and Friday, October 23, as part of his Sting 3.0 Tour. Both nights start at 8 PM.
This isn't a full band setup. He's touring in an intimate trio with guitarist Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas, and the set draws from both his solo career and his days with The Police. It's a stripped-back way to hear songs that usually have a lot more around them, and with only three people on stage, there isn't much to hide behind. Miller has been a long-time collaborator, and Maas handles the percussion, so the focus stays on the songs and the singing.
As for what he'll play, the set reaches across his whole catalog. You'll hear hits from the Police years, like "Every Breath You Take," alongside solo songs like "Fields of Gold," "Englishman in New York," and "Desert Rose." It's a mix of the early material and the later records, so it covers a lot of ground in one night. If you've followed him from the beginning, you'll recognize the old Police tracks; if you came in later, the solo hits will be the ones you know.
