Sensory-Friendly Trunk-or-Treat

Bierman Autism Centers is hosting its annual Sensory-Friendly Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM to 12 PM at their Broad Ripple location, 1022 East 52nd Street in Indianapolis. It's a calm, sensory-friendly alternative to traditional trick-or-treating, built for children with autism and other developmental needs who might find the usual Halloween rush a bit much. The clinical teams run the whole morning at a slower pace in a predictable environment, so you can take your time without the noise and chaos of a typical neighborhood route.

The main draw is the decorated trunks full of treats and surprises, but there's plenty more to do. You'll find hands-on games like ring toss, bean bag toss, and balloon pop, along with face painting and crafts. If things start to feel overwhelming, there's a dedicated Sensory-Friendly Comfort Zone where families can take a break and reset. Staff trained in autism therapy are on site throughout the morning, and while costumes are welcome, they're completely optional—no pressure to dress up if it's not your child's thing.

Bierman Autism Centers has been around since 2006 as a privately held, clinically owned and operated ABA therapy provider. They track progress using their Clinical Velocity™ indicator and have celebrated over 400 successful graduations. Beyond ABA, they offer speech therapy, occupational therapy, and diagnostic evaluations across several Indiana locations. During the event, you can connect with their team to learn more about the resources and support they provide.

It's a free event, running from 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, October 24, at Bierman Autism Centers - Broad Ripple, 1022 East 52nd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46205.
