Toronto punk band PUP play HI-FI Annex on St. Patrick Street, with doors at 6:00 pm.
PUP are playing HI-FI Annex on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. They're a Toronto punk band formed in 2010, and the four members are best friends, which usually shows in the way they play together.
Frontman Stefan Babcock is at the center of their more recent work. After a decade-long relationship ended, he wrote more than 30 songs in a single year, and that run became 2024's Who Will Look After The Dogs? (Little Dipper / Rise Records). The album was recorded in just three weeks in Los Angeles with producer John Congleton, who has worked with St. Vincent and Death Cab for Cutie. The band describes it as their most immediate, energetic and emotionally honest record yet, trading the self-loathing of earlier albums for a journey from heartbreak toward acceptance and hope. Jeff Rosenstock adds guest vocals on "Get Dumber."
They've built a reputation for channeling creative tension, self-deprecating humor and a near-chaotic chemistry on stage. Their back catalog includes the acclaimed 2013 debut, 2016's The Dream Is Over and the Juno Award-winning Morbid Stuff from 2019, so the set should pull from a good stretch of their career. If you've followed them since the beginning, you'll recognize the sound; if you're coming in fresh, Who Will Look After The Dogs? is the best place to start.
