Pajama storytime with stories, songs, literacy activities and play time for babies, toddlers and preschoolers at the Lawrence Branch.
Pajama Storytime is back at the Lawrence Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Monday, November 23, from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM. It's a half-hour session built for families with young children, and the age range is wide: babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age kids are all welcome. The whole point is to get the little ones together for stories, songs, and a bit of fun, with literacy activities and play time following the stories.
If you're not familiar with the Lawrence Branch, it's at 7898 Hague Road in Indianapolis. The branch has a bit of history behind itโit first opened in 1967 on North Franklin Road in a storefront that used to be the Lawrence Post Office, making it the first branch to open within an incorporated town in Marion County. A larger, permanent 13,500-square-foot facility opened in 1983 on a 3.44-acre site purchased from MSD Lawrence Township. It was renovated in 2020 and re-opened with better lighting, more charging outlets, group study and tutoring areas, and updated interiors, so it's a comfortable spot to bring the kids.

The session itself is designed for caregivers and their young children to experience together. The stories and songs come first, and then the literacy activities and play time follow, so there's a mix of listening and doing. It's a free event, and it runs from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, November 23, at the Lawrence Branch.
