Workshop on Microsoft Word for seniors and adults held in the Martindale-Brightwood branch's computer lab.
The Martindale-Brightwood Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library had a Microsoft Word workshop on the books for Wednesday, November 18, 2026, from 11 AM to 12 PM, but it's been marked as cancelled. It was set for the branch's computer lab, and the session was aimed at seniors and adults.
If you're not familiar with the branch, it's at 2434 North Sherman Drive, and it's a relatively new spot. The current building opened in 2020, right across the street from the previous Martindale-Brightwood location, though the branch's history goes back much further than that. It started in 1901 as the Brightwood Branch, the sixth public library to open in Indianapolis. From there, it served the community at a few different spots along Station Street before moving into the North Sherman Avenue storefront in 1972. That building was later expanded in 1996, which doubled its size to 5,400 square feet. The 2020 move just shifted it across the street into the brand-new building it's in now.

Registration for the workshop was scheduled to open on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 3 PM. Since it's been cancelled, that's no longer on the table. If you're still looking for a way to get comfortable with Word, you might check the library's calendar for other upcoming classes at this branch or others across the city.
