Community session by the Dieudonne Foundation about the role of doulas in supporting families through pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Meet Your Neighbor returns to Pike Branch on Thursday, November 5, with a session titled Doulas Supporting Families. It's part of a series that brings community members and professionals together to learn about the immigrant communities that call Indianapolis home, and this one focuses on the role of doulas.
The Dieudonne Foundation is leading the conversation. They'll be explaining what doulas actually do—supporting families before, during, and after birth—with a particular focus on culturally responsive care and community-based support. A good part of the session is dedicated to the practical side: how doulas help families navigate pregnancy, postpartum needs, hospital environments, and local resources. If you've ever wondered how that support works in practice, this is where you'll get the details.
