Introduction to meditation session open to all ages at the Glendale Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.
Learn to Meditate: Everyone Can! is coming to the Glendale Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Wednesday, November 11, from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM. It's a half-hour introduction to meditation, and as the title suggests, it's open to all agesβfrom 16 to 106. If you've never tried it before, this is a low-stakes way to get started.
The session is held at the Glendale Branch, which is a bit of a local curiosity: it's the country's first full-service library located inside a major shopping mall, built back in 2000 inside Glendale Mall. The branch has deep roots in the Broad Ripple community, which has been served by libraries at various sites since 1930. The first stand-alone library opened in 1949, and a larger branch followed in Broad Ripple Park in 1986. In 2024, a new 24,800-square-foot branch opened on the site of the former John Strange Elementary School.
