Julian Lage

Julian Lage plays the Shelton Auditorium at Butler University on Saturday, April 17, 2027. It's a single-bill night with Lage as the sole feature, so the whole evening is built around his guitar. The show starts at 7:30 PM.

If you've followed Lage's work, you know he's one of the few guitarists who can hold a stage on his own. He's spent years moving between the jazz world and a more open, melodic kind of playing, and that's exactly what he brings to a night like this. With no other acts on the bill, the set is his to shape, and the focus stays on the guitar from start to finish.

Butler University's Shelton Auditorium is the venue, which puts the show right in the heart of the campus. It's a dedicated performance space, so you'll have a clear line of sight to the stage and a room that's built for listening rather than dancing. Lage is a player who values space and nuance, and a room like this lets those smaller moments land.

It's a Saturday night in Indianapolis, and the 7:30 PM start gives you plenty of time to get settled before he takes the stage. If you're into jazz guitar, this is a straightforward one: Julian Lage, solo on the bill, at the Shelton Auditorium on April 17.
