Indianapolis Ballet's company premiere of the Cinderella ballet, choreographed by Victoria Morgan and performed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
Indianapolis Ballet brings Cinderella to Clowes Memorial Hall on Friday, November 6, with two matinees following on Saturday, November 7, and Sunday, November 8. It's the company's premiere of the fairytale ballet, choreographed and staged by Victoria Morgan, Artistic Director Emerita of Cincinnati Ballet. The production runs in three acts and takes about two hours, and it's recommended for ages five and up, billed as a perfect outing for audiences of all ages.
What sets this apart from a typical recorded performance is the music. The ballet is set to Prokofiev's score, and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra will be playing it live in the hall. The orchestra is conducted by Andrew Grams, and this is the first of three collaborations between the company and the orchestra during the 2026-27 season. The production is presented by the Butler Arts & Events Center and made possible with support from the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation.
There's a bit of local history tied to the venue, too. Clowes Memorial Hall was built on the Butler University campus specifically for the orchestra, which was founded in 1930 by Ferdinand Schaefer and turned professional in 1937 with Fabien Sevitzky as its first Music Director. Seeing the orchestra perform live in the hall that was built for them adds another layer to the evening.
