Free storytelling session by Indiana Humanities about the monsters and mythical creatures that linger in our collective memory.
House of 1,000 Monsters comes to the Indianapolis Public Library—Central Library on Tuesday, October 27, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM. It's a session presented by Indiana Humanities, and it's free to attend.
The whole thing is built around the idea that mythical creatures and monsters linger in our collective memory—the kind of figures that stick with us long after the stories are told. From there, it asks which of them might have left their mark on Indiana soil. It's a way of taking those old, familiar monsters and imagining them right here in our own backyard, rather than in some far-off fairytale land. If you've ever wondered what kind of legends might be hiding in the woods or the riverbeds around the state, that's exactly where this points.

It's a short session, just an hour, so it's an easy one to fit into a weekday afternoon. The Central Library is right downtown at 40 E. Saint Clair St., and since it's free, there's nothing to pay when you show up. If you're around the city on a Tuesday and want to spend an hour thinking about the monsters that haunt the local landscape, this is a good place to start. 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, free, at the Central Library.
