Family-friendly Halloween party with a BOO-fet meal, games, face painting and a magic show by Abracadabra Magic at the museum's Fright Academy haunted house.
The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is hosting Friendly Feast with the Witches on Saturday, October 24, from 6:30 to 9 PM. It's presented by Dentons Bingham Greenbaum, and the night includes a show by Abracadabra Magic and a craft courtesy of Gymboree. The feast itself is built around the museum's Fright Academy haunted house, which is run by The Children's Museum Guild.
Fright Academy plays along with the joke: potions, charms, shadow shifting and spellcasting make up the course load, and the library is described as definitely haunted. You get to choose your own experience here. Friendly Hours come with brighter lights, upbeat music and friendly greeters. Frightening Hours bring dimmed lights, scarier music and masked Haunters who may jump out. The feast adds a BOO-fet meal with the friendliest of witches, games, face painting and a goody bag for every child.
There's a bit of history behind the haunt. The Children's Museum Guild opened its first Haunted House in 1964 and has since welcomed more than 3.3 million visitors, donating more than $17 million to the museum. The Friendly Feast is billed as the city's biggest and best family-friendly Halloween party, and it's one of the ways the Guild continues that tradition.
